Thanks to all who attended last week's meeting. Special thanks to the Summers family for hosting this month's meeting.
Also, a special to Officer Swafford from Sac PD who attends every month to apprise neighbors of current happenings in local law enforcement efforts and to Michael Huizar, our District 1 Constituent Affairs Director.
Michael introduced himself to neighbors and provided the opportunity for folks to discuss issues facing District 1, as well as upcoming events. Should you need any assistance with City related issues, please feel free to direct all questions or comments to Michael at mhuizar@cityofsacramento.org .
We discussed various code enforcement matters related to the neigbhorhood, as well as the upcoming 4th of July Parade and organizing a National Night Out nieghborhood event. Please see my earlier posting on the 4th of July Parade. National Night out is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7th. From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., residents throughout the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Here's some more info regaridng NNO for those interested in the background: http://www.nationaltownwatch.org/nno/ . Dennis Boyd has graciously volunteered his place for a destination of activities (his home located at 5610 Sorento Road). Neighbors are encouraged to walk to Dennis' place and get to know other neighbors along the way. More info will be provided as we get closer to the event.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, August 15th, location to be determined. There will not be a meeting in July.
