I hope that you are all enjoying your summer. Things have been very quiet in the neighborhood for the most part.
As you all know, we did not have a July regular neighborhood meeting, but we did have our annunal July 4th Parade, as well as a Kids' Meeting on Friday, July 13th. Thanks to Libby on Tunis for organizing and hosting the parade. As for the Kids' meeting, the Police Department came out and talked to neighborhood children, parents, and grandparents, about best safety practices when at home alone during the summer and kid safety. Phil and Alyssa on Barros hosted the event at their home on Barros and provided the food and beverages for the event. I think all the children had a great time, I know mine did. Thanks to Alyssa and BettMarie for organizing the event. We will be having more kid-centric events so look out for announcements in the future.
Also, our first annual National Night Out event is a couple weeks away. On Tuesday, August 7, 2012, Dennis Boyd will be hosting a BBQ potluck at his home located at 5610 Sorento Road from 6pm-8pm. All neighbors are encouraged to come out and enjoy an evening of food and getting to know your neighbors. Don't forget to bring a favorite dish to share!
Our next regular neighborhood meeting will be Wednesday, August 15 at 630 pm. Location to be determined.
